Manchester United are reportedly stepping up their interest in Victor Osimhen and it’s claimed talks over a new deal at Napoli have been shelved because the Red Devils are in ascendancy for the former Lille frontman. It’s no secret that the red-hot Nigerian frontman is a player of huge admiration at Old Trafford but a host of other clubs including Premier League rivals could look to rival United for Osimhen’s signature.
The 24-year-old danger man has struck 21 times in 24 Serie A outings this season and has also found the net five times in six Champions League outings.
His latest strike came in the midweek Champions League draw with AC Milan which resultantly saw Napoli dumped out of Europe following a 2-1 aggregate defeat.Nonetheless, Napoli remain on course to win a historic title this season and Osimhen has been integral to their fortunes following a barnstorming individual campaign.
According to The Daily Star, United had scouts in Italy this week to cast an eye over Osimhen’s performance and there’s growing optimism they are prepared to throw huge cash at Napoli to sign the forward this summer.
